Homies and housemates, Rio and Neil, won’t stop talking about anything. The Sugarhouse is the house of possibilities, the house of coins, the house where the magic happens where they eat nachos (or cake) just because they can.
When was the last time you did something exciting?
Your heart is pounding, you can’t stop smiling, and you are over the moon! This natural ecstasy is one of many feelings we learn to love, because at this point we learned to trust the unknown and how sometimes its on our side.
Neil Nanta and Rio Lim (best friends forever) finally released their first podcast last week. Sugarhouse Podcast aired on Spotify last Saturday, 8 May, 2021 and received a huge response from the people who supported the duo.
“We wanted to be creative and do something using our natural talent”, Neil says in our interview, “And that’s talking. We talk a lot. It’s what we do and it’s worth doing.”
On their pilot episode, both were clueless and had no topics in mind. They blabbered about almost anything they could think of in the moment–a real conversation. You know, like the ones we like.
“It’s something fun”, Rio adds, “I’m a really introverted person but with the right crowd, I can say a lot. I have tons of ideas.”
If you know Neil and Rio personally, hearing them cry seven minutes into the podcast would have made you laugh, yet realizing what a wholesome bunch they are.
“We want to be vulnerable and be human.”
But with this satisfaction of talking a lot comes an equal amount of wisdom and new experiences. When asked why they’re doing this, they told me: “We want to be vulnerable and be human. We open more opportunities where we learn a lot and that means we’re growing.”
So, going back to my question: when was the last time you did something exciting? Hmm? Well it didn’t have to be grand like releasing a podcast but that doesn’t negate the fact that it the future, it can be something grand.
